Frequently Asked Question

Got questions? We’ve got answers

Not having insurance should not be a barrier to quality, convenient, common sense care.

Fawkes offers Direct Primary Care and a personalized patient-doctor relationship even if you do not have insurance. With 2 telehealth visits, email and text access to their doctor, the value can’t be beat.

Fawkes, MD also negotiates labs and imaging at cost to patients without insurance so they can get the answers they need when they need them. Fawkes, MD does not provide urgent or emergency care and will refer uninsured patients to seek an emergency room in those cases.
Direct Primary Care is NOT insurance. With numerous limitations to insurance, you may not be able to see your primary care physician for weeks or get the necessary labs when you need it the most. And when you finally do get an appointment, many times you’re seen by a non-doctor.

At Fawkes, MD, we offer the option to see the doctor without the hassle of driving to your doctor’s office or waiting in a germ infested waiting room. No insurance company is undermining patient care time, and for one low monthly payment, patients can speak to a medical doctor for up to an hour at a telehealth visit or phone call.

At Fawkes, MD, there will never be copays, coinsurance, prior authorizations, or unexpected bills sent months after the visit. Your insurance can pay for labs and imaging, emergency visits, and hospital admissions.
Patients who are generally healthy but experience that inevitable suspicious UTI on a Friday or cough at night that won’t let them sleep may have to wait to see an insurance paid doctor physically.

This translates to waiting until Monday morning at the earliest before the doctor is able to squeeze you in. Insurance won’t pay the doctor if they don’t see the patient!

At Fawkes, MD, the doctor can talk to the patient on the phone or see them via telehealth for a minimum of an hour at a time, even on weekends!

Patients who desire clear, convenient, common sense medicine with a medical doctor who is easy to access deserve DPC as a backup or as their primary care source.
It covers up to 2 telehealth visits with your doctor and unlimited messaging with your doctor to arrange the care you need. It also includes everything listed in Services, as well as medical record review, medication review, paperwork members need filled out, and in the case of hospitalization, a medical advocate to help you navigate what’s happening.

There’s no substitute for experience.

Some very lucky healthy people only rarely need a doctor. They can pay the $150 fee online and schedule a same day or next day telehealth appointment and spend the hour with the doctor. This visit will be long because the doctor will need to take a thorough history and understand a patient’s needs. This requires A LOT of questions, so patients should expect to use the whole hour and understand that their time and investment is of higher value if they enrolled in membership.
If patients have PPO insurance Fawkes, MD can refer to in-network specialists.

If patients have HMO insurance, Fawkes, MD will attempt a referral to an in-network specialist. In all likelihood, this will be rejected and patients may have to see the primary care physician on the back of their insurance card to get a referral to the specialist.

If patients are uninsured, Fawkes, MD has a list of specialists that offer cash pricing for their medical services.
Fawkes, MD aims to keep patients OUT of hospitals through clear, convenient, common sense care. However, emergencies do happen. If patients are en route to the hospital and notify Fawkes, MD, the physician will call the ER and attempt to speak with the emergency physician to help coordinate care. Upon admission to the hospital, Fawkes, MD will attempt to speak to the hospitalist team to discuss patient treatment, discharge, and transition. Having a medical advocate in the patients’ back pocket provides answers, clarity, peace of mind, and better care in and out of the hospital.
Fawkes, MD requires an introductory 6-month commitment to membership so patients can experience the advantages of having a doctor at their fingertips. After that, membership is month to month and may be canceled online at any time via the membership portal. Once canceled, re-enrollment requires the annual enrollment fee to be paid again, and membership fees increase after our 2023 launch.
