What is Fawkes, MD?

Immortal, a Phoenix bird is reborn from its own ashes. Although created from fire and flames, the Phoenix’s tears have magical healing powers. This creature is rarely sighted, passed down generation to generation, and fiercely loyal to its family bloodline.
A beloved Harry Potter character, Fawkes the Phoenix has the ability to appear when its owner is most in need, lending support against the darkest, most powerful forces.
Fawkes, MD, based out of Phoenix, AZ, (see what we did there?) does have healing powers, just not magical. We pride ourselves in putting patients first, making their health and health literacy top priority.
Primary care is making a comeback (dare we say, reborn) from failed insurance-based (dark, powerful forces) to patient-centered health care through affordable and easily accessible services.

Who We Are

Fawkes, MD provides clear, convenient, common sense, easily accessible adult telehealth services without the frustrations of insurance.
How can we do that? It’s called Direct Primary Care (DPC). Patients can quickly reach a medical doctor for a monthly membership fee that’s cheaper than most insurance premiums.

Meet Your Doctor

Dr. Uzma Jafri is double board certified in Family and Geriatric Medicine, in private practice for over 11 years in Phoenix, AZ. She is convinced that a doctor-patient relationship is built on trust and therapeutic alliances using health literacy, honesty, respect, and time. What she’s learned through the years is that insurance isn’t serving her patients for their non emergent needs, and in many ways, is increasing their reliance on urgent cares and emergency rooms.
In her spare time, Dr. Jafri is a mom of 4 who loves traveling and trying new restaurants with her friends and family. When they aren’t flying or eating, she is on the sidelines of the soccer pitch encouraging her kids. Very loudly. She volunteers locally and internationally to serve vulnerable populations, modeling service for the benefit of her children and community. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu, and Hindi.
And if it isn’t obvious, she’s an avid Harry Potter fan.
